No... It was done in Photoshop, but I am not sure of the technique.

I know ir says your vest is commissioned but i was wondering if you could tell me a bit about it/link me to the person you commissioned from so i might pick their brain? it looks almost quilted to me with just stitching making the geometric designs??

Yes, it is lightly quilted and stitched to make the design (my seamstress must have the patience of a saint!). It's made from velvet, with a linen inner lining and a thin layer of wadding between.

sweet!! thank you so much for letting me know. I have the velvet already so I was trying to figure out how to get the designs since embossing it seems impossible and a half on such a large scale and i was hoping quilting would look good as well.

You're welcome :) Yeah, we figured the same about embossing, so decided on quilting it and I think it looks really nice. Hope your costume works out well for you too

This is such an amazing costume! It makes me sooo jealous...
Costume speaking for itself, all the details to look at and admire.
I would love to own one myself, it would be a dream come true!
However, thanks for sharing! :iconilikeitplz:

I had it commissioned, I didn't make it. I believe they made the plates from moulded resin, and the tunic is suede leather
